2022/2023 Challenges
A Block with Your Name - January 2023
This challenge is for anyone who has ever made a quilt block! Yes that is all of us, beginners and advanced quilters alike!
For this challenge you are to make a one large quilt block that could be any size ranging from 12 by 12 inches to 24 by 24 inches. It needs to be made into a finished item eg a cushion, a small wall hanging or a table topper. This is a quick challenge as everyone will be busy finishing off quilts and sewn items for the quilt show and boutique. Here are the parameters for this challenge.

- The block name is to start with the first letter of your first name. Eg for me, Robyn, I could do a Rail Fence block . . not the most interesting but there are lots of choices out there.
- The predominant colour is to start with the initial of your middle name. My middle name is Alison so I might choose apricot, aubergine, avocado or autumn colours. If you have no middle name, you have free range here . . or you could choose your mother's middle name for example.
- The type of quilting on it needs to start with the first letter of your last name. So for me, I might choose hearts or (cross) hatching or hand quilting.
First place goes to Deanna (DLG) and second place goes to Sarah (SAR).
