Saturday, November 16 - Workshop on Double Disappearing Nine Patch Variations
In this all day (6 hour) workshop, Bill Stearman will teach participants all about the double disappearing nine patch. This is the block he used in his quilt which won 'Viewers' Choice' at the last quilt show.
This workshop is held in conjunction with the Quinte Modern Quilt Guild, so book early! Contact Lyne Lusk or Lisa Castonguay. Remember that you must pay the workshop fee at the October guild meeting to confirm your place.
In the morning (3 hours), we will look at examples of four DD9P block variations ... Traditional, Transitioning to Modern, Modern, and Improv. Participants will learn how to construct the block, learn useful tips, and receive a full colour pattern for construction of the block.
A fabric kit containing all fabric for construction of four sample blocks is supplied by the instructor. These sample blocks will be suitable for use as cushion covers (15" square)
In the afternoon (3 hours), participants will continue working on the four block variations, with a particular focus on the Improv variation.
$40 for the workshop and $30 for the fabric kit (Bill's own hand-dyed fabrics).
