Eight Guild Members enjoyed emulating the technique taught by Hattie Vandyk. Several of us have found a new love for hand sewing work. Even though no one finished their project we are all obviously very pleased with ourselves!

Cross Stitching: A new skill
On Thursday March 2, 2017 at Picton Fabric World, two of our guild members, Maggie Goode and Judy Blemkie, gave cross stitching lessons. All of the materials were provided from the Mary Pease donation. It was a fun, relaxing day. We had excellent instructions and soon we were selecting more elaborate designs to try! Thank you Maggie and Judy! When they offer to teach another session, don't miss out!
Thursday March 9, 2017 Sylvia Naylor's "Capturing Summer"
We were honoured to have Sylvia Naylor come to our guild in March 2017. She is a fibre artist renowned for her stitchery work in scenes of nature. Check out her website at www.sylvianaylor.com Fifteen lucky people attended Sylvia's Workshop, held at the Milford Town Hall on Thursday March 9, 2017. We were given group and individual instruction/attention. Many colours of organza and threads were available to choose and work with. Everyone created something different but all were beautiful! Not all workshop attendees are captured in the group photo.
Bethany Garner Fabric Dyeing Workshop Friday May 5, 2017
bethanygarner.blogspot.ca We did vat dyeing, shibori dyeing, and painting with thickened dyes. Even if you had done this before, it was great to get together with friends to make all of your mess at one time and come away with new inspirations in colour!
The workshop took place at the Baxter Arts Centre, Bloomfield, Ontario.
